Spangles

Why Choose

Spangle Printing

Spangles do something no other decoration method does. Here is what sets them apart from embroidery, screen printing, and other transfer methods.

Color-Shifting Iridescence

Iridescent spangles change color based on the viewing angle. No ink, dye, or thread can replicate this effect. It is exclusive to spangle decoration and genuinely has to be seen in person.

Lightweight and Flexible

Spangles sit close to the fabric and flex with it. There is no stiffness, no raised bulk, and no discomfort from wearing them. They hold up through washing without lifting or peeling when cared for properly.

Easier to Produce Than Rhinestones

Rhinestones require individual sewing. Spangles press on via heat transfer, which makes them far more practical for larger quantities and production runs without sacrificing visual impact.

Combines With Other Methods

Spangles work alongside embroidery and direct-to-film printing, so you can mix decoration techniques on the same garment for layered, high-impact results.

27 Color Options

With 27 available reel options and up to 6 colors per design, there is enough range to match brand palettes, team colors, or creative artwork across standard, holographic, and iridescent finishes.

Made in Michigan

Every spangle order is produced in-house at our Garden City facility. That means real quality control, faster turnaround, and a local team you can actually talk to about your project.

The Spangle Process

01

Submit Your Design

Send us your artwork along with your garment type and quantity. We accept PNG, PDF, AI, and EPS files. Not print-ready? We can help prep it.

02

Design Conversion

Your artwork is converted into a spangle-ready file. Because every design is built from small circles (2mm to 5mm in diameter), the file prep process maps your design into the disc placement pattern used by the machine.

03

Digital Proof Approval

You review a digital proof showing your design, color selections, and placement before we produce anything. We do not move forward until you approve it.

04

Transfer Sheet Production

The Prospangle machine punches each individual spangle disc onto a square transfer sheet, building your full design one disc at a time.

05

Heat Press

The completed transfer sheet is heat pressed onto your garment, bonding the spangles to the fabric the same way a DTF or vinyl transfer works.

06

Quality Check and Fulfillment

Every finished piece is inspected before it leaves the shop. Orders are available for pickup in Garden City or shipped anywhere in the country.

Not sure if your garment is a good fit? Reach out and we will confirm before you order. Some highly stretchy or very thin fabrics may need additional testing before production.

Minimums, Turnaround Time

& What to Expect

Here’s a clear breakdown of what to expect when you order custom embroidered apparel from Inkorporate Graphics:

  • Minimum Order Quantity: No minimums. Order what you need, whether that is one piece or a full team run. Spangle pricing is consistent per piece regardless of quantity.
  • Standard Turnaround Time: Standard orders are completed within 7 to 10 business days after proof approval. Rush options may be available. Contact us with your deadline and we will tell you what is possible.
  • Color Per Design: Up to 6 colors per design, chosen from 27 available reel options across standard reflective, holographic, iridescent, and matte finishes.
  • Disc Size Range: Spangle discs range from 2mm to 5mm in diameter. Design complexity and detail level are affected by disc size, which our team will walk you through during the proofing process.
  • Proof Approval: You will receive a digital proof before production begins. We do not press a single piece until you have reviewed and approved your design, colors, and placement.
  • Reorders: Your design file stays on record. Reorders are straightforward and typically faster than the original run.
  • Fulfillment: Orders are available for pickup at our Garden City, Michigan shop or shipped anywhere in the country.
  • Care Instructions: Wash inside-out on a gentle or delicate cycle. Avoid high-heat drying. Spangles are durable, but proper care extends the life of the transfer significantly.
What Clothing and Items Spangles

Work Best On

Spangles are best suited for garments and items that benefit from shimmer and visual impact. Here are the product categories where they perform best.

T-Shirts & Hoodies

The most common spangle application. Works well on cotton, poly blends, and performance fabrics, especially for team gear, event shirts, and personal drops.

Cheer & Dance Apparel

Spangles were made for this. Performance apparel, cheer uniforms, and dance costumes light up under stage and stadium lighting in a way nothing else does.

Athletic & Team Wear

Team names, numbers, and logos on jerseys, warm-up gear, and practice apparel. The iridescent finish is especially popular for team graphics that need to stand out.

Sweatpants & Joggers

Side-leg graphics and wordmarks press cleanly on fleece and French terry fabrics. A popular choice for matching sets and team warm-up gear.

Hats & Accessories

Spangle transfers work on structured and unstructured hats, tote bags, and accessories where a small shimmering graphic makes a strong impression.

Event & Celebration Apparel

Bachelorette parties, birthday events, and group celebrations are a natural fit. Spangles make one-off custom pieces feel special and finished without a large order requirement.

Frequently Asked

Questions

What are spangles exactly?

Spangles are small, thin circular discs made from metal or plastic, similar to sequins, that are heat pressed onto garments using a transfer sheet. They create a shimmery, reflective, or color-shifting finish depending on the reel type used. Unlike rhinestones, they do not need to be sewn on individually, which makes them much more practical for custom apparel production.

Your artwork is converted into a file format that maps the design into individual disc placements. Our Prospangle machine then punches each disc onto a transfer sheet one at a time, building the full design. Once the transfer sheet is complete, it is heat pressed onto the garment, just like a DTF or vinyl transfer.

Standard spangles are reflective and shimmery in a single color. Holographic reels produce a glitter-like, multi-directional sparkle. Iridescent reels are the most dynamic option: the color of the disc actually shifts depending on the angle you are viewing it from, moving between multiple hues in a single design. You can mix all three within one design as long as you stay within the 6-color limit.

Up to 6 colors per design. You can choose from 27 available reel options, mixing finishes like standard reflective, holographic, iridescent, and matte within the same design.

No. You can order a single piece or a full team run. Pricing stays consistent per piece regardless of quantity, which makes spangles a practical option for personal orders, small events, and large production runs alike.

Yes. Spangles can be used alongside embroidery and direct-to-film printing on the same garment. This is a great way to add dimension to a design that already uses another decoration method. We will help you figure out the right combination during the proofing process.

Most standard apparel fabrics work well, including cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends, and performance fabrics. Spangles are commonly pressed onto t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, jerseys, and cheer or dance apparel. If you have an unusual garment in mind, reach out before you order and we will confirm it is a good fit.

Wash inside-out on a gentle or delicate cycle in cold water. Avoid high-heat drying. Spangles are designed to hold up over time, but proper care makes a real difference in how long the transfer stays clean and intact.
